Fear Factory - Obsolete (1998)

The third album by Fear Factory is a nice mix of industrial metal with groove metal. It would become there best selling album in Fear Factory's catalog although in my opinion Demanufacture and Archetype are the best records they've ever done. This is extremely heavy stuff. On the extra track edition Obsolete, the best Gary Numan cover of all time if that means anything. This is a concept record about how machines have taken place of man and Edgecrusher is speaker of the album who eventually is captured by the Securitons who are the machine run society. In conclusion, Edgecrusher's story ends in a confided jail cell and he feels like he has failed mankind. Songs to check out "Edgecrusher", "Cars" and "Shock".
