Faith No More - The Real Thing (1989)

Spiked by the commercial success of there biggest song to date "Epic" Faith No More had recruited a new vocalist Mike Patton from Mr. Bungle. It was rated best album by Kerrang in 1989 and it placed in the 100 greatest rock albums at 64 by Classic Rock magazine. They were the innovators of experimental metal with songs that had influence from musically ever genre you can think they've attempted it from "Chariots of Fire" to "I Started A Joke" by The Bee Gees. If alternative rock were rated in importance this one would be top notch in there. Some people even point out that nu metal artist were heavily influenced in The Real Thing which maybe not a good thing but, inspiring to some atleast whom were the next decade of rock. If VH1 wants to label Faith No More as one hit wonders they're correct but, Faith No More is a smart man's band and probably over most people's heads. Songs to check out "From Out of Nowhere", "Zombie Eaters" and "Falling To Pieces".
